Gakked this from saintvic, in an attempt to actually post something without mentioning Dean Winchester.

Ah well, let's proceed anyway:

The idea is to post between 5 and 10 of your teen-y crushes, with or without images.

So -

1) Luke Duke (Dukes of Hazzard)

Technically, this was pre-teen, but I can't make this list without him, because he was my first ever full-on, honest to god, what-is-this-strange-feeling-in-my-pants crush. I adored him. And he set my taste for dark men, which has stayed with me (barring a very few exceptions) ever since.

Do you still see it?

Nah, not really, but he was my first love, so there'll always be a special corner of my heart reserved for him.

2) Michael Praed as Robin of Sherwood:

Dark, adventurous, emo, got into danger a lot, and with added mysticism thrown in. Not to mention outrageously tight trousers. Adorable.

Do you still see it?

Totally. I still watch often (more so now my son's discovered it), and the temptation to lick the screen hasn't diminished even a little.

3) Bodie - The Professionals

I wanted to be Bodie when I was nine. Completely. And then later, I saw it from a whole new perspective. Again we have dark, in looks and character, brooding, gets in danger a lot, and outrageous trousers!

Do you still see it?

Hell yeah! He's mine, I tell you, MINE!!

4) Howlin' Mad Murdock (The A Team)

OK, another thing, I tend not to fancy the obviously fanciable one (Bo Duke, Face, Napoleon Solo). I dunno, I just kind of feel they fancy themselves enough for both of us. Also, I'm a total sucker for men that are damaged, particularly ones with a veneer of humour covering a dangerous dark side (hello Dean Winchester. Crap again.) So yeah, I love Murdock for his broken-ness, adding a much needed side of angst to an otherwise all-too-frothy programme.

Do you still see it?

Kind of. Yes. Certainly the type is still right for me.

5) Can't remember the character's name now, but Jan-Michael Vincent in Airwolf.

Honestly? I've no idea. I guess - he was dark, a bit tortured, had a conscience. And a cello. And a really strange neck. Like, he was this youngish guy, but his neck was about 150 years old. Dean Winchester would have taken one look at that neck and pumped him full of rock salt.

(Crap crap CRAP.)

Do you still see it?

NO! To the extent that, when I was looking for a picture that made him look vaguely attractive, I almost gave up and just posted a pic of the helicopter instead!

And a couple of musos:

6) John Taylor (Duran Duran)

Well, he's pretty. And dark. And manages to look brooding and intense, even though he's arguably the most sorted guy on the list. And he's a bass player - I've got a bit of a soft spot for those. And he's not Simon le Bon.

Do you still see it?

I still see why, but I've moved on quite a lot since then.

7) Adam Ant (Wild Frontier, rather than Prince Charming, to be specific about it)

He's proper tortured! And the image is good, and the music rocks. And this was my first rebellion, although tragically my Mum and Dad were perfectly happy with it. Seriously though, never ever use Tippex to create the Adam Ant stripe. It's a bitch to get off.

Do you still see it?

Yes. Yes, I think I do.

And finally -

8) MONKEY!!!! (Monkey Magic)

Why, for God's sake?

What? I'm weird. Sue me.

Do you still see it?

We're clearly of the same era, me dear..*g* Though my thing was for blonds at the time - David Soul and John Schneider rather than paul Michael Glaser and Tom Wopat. And Doyle rather than Bodie. Though now it's more Bodie. Hmmmm..

And well done, you only managed to mention Dean once.

So have a smokin' hot icon as your reward.
I, being poor, have only my dreams.
bistokids at 2009-05-08 21:26 (UTC) (Link)

How is it even possible to be that gorgeous? Seriously, I'm beyond obsessed now!

I'm really quite surprised I never went through a Doyle phase, especially in my teens when I was all pretentious and intellectual. But nope, it was Bodie all the way!

I think it might have been more than once, actually, but can I keep the icon ayway? *bats eyelashes*

saintvic at 2009-05-08 18:10 (UTC) (Link)
I only watched the Dukes of Hazzard a few years ago really and I admit to a bit of a thing for Bo. Made watching Smallville rather strange afterwards I have to say.

Bodie: Hell yeah! He's mine, I tell you, MINE!!
*raises eyebrow*
Think Doyle might have something to say about that.

And Airwolf!!!! God I wanted to be able to fly and I wanted KiTT from Knightrider as well.

Great list luv, although Monkey concerns me slightly.

Oh I am going to assume you are still enjoying Supernatural then....something is giving it away.
I, being poor, have only my dreams.

Made watching Smallville rather strange afterwards I have to say.

Ooh, thanks, I'd forgotten that connection. I was just reading this J2 AU fic (maybe not something I should be admitting in public, but hey) where he was the main baddie - I get it now!

Yeah, I loved KiTT. Fancied the car a lot more than the Hasselhoff.

Um, yes, still kind of into Supernatural a bit. In the same way as I'm slightly into breathing. I JUST CAN'T STOP WATCHING!!!
saintvic at 2009-05-08 21:36 (UTC) (Link)
I can understand that. The most recent episode I watched from series 4 (on ITV4) is just one of the most moving things I have watched in a long time (actually nearly cried). I recorded it and have watched it 4 times now. And.....okay I don't know where you are up to and don't want to spoil so I'll just stop there. *pets Dean*

Was that this week's? I watched about 20 minutes of it, then wrenched myself away. I'm trying really really hard to wait until I can buy the box set before I watch S4, but I'm failing pretty epically and am now spoiled beyind the point of pretending to myself any more! In the meantime, I'm watching S1-3 on a loop.

For the record - fave eps so far: Born Under a Bad Sign, and Mystery Spot. Odd, now I think about it, they're both Sam-centric. And yet my heart is completely owned by Dean.
saintvic at 2009-05-08 22:01 (UTC) (Link)
It was this weeks and it was brilliant. I actually had the urge to post a reaction to it (something I never do) because it was so great. The ending is a real killer especially for Dean fans.

There aren't many eps left though so you might make it if you want to wait.

Those are great episodes.

Born under a bad sign - that moment where you think he might attack Jo is one of the best scenes I reckon

Mystery Spot - Hee, groundhog day supernatual style, what isn't to love.

I love all the dramatic episodes but also have a real fondness for Bad Day at Black Rock with Sam losing his show *pets Sam* and Dean saying "I'm Batman".

Oh and side note, am developing a rather serious crush on Castiel now as well as the boys.
I, being poor, have only my dreams.

am developing a rather serious crush on Castiel now

I find that whole thing very intriguing, and it's the one thing I'm still managing to stay away from - Dean and Castiel on screen together.

Thing is, given how the whole of fandom's about SamnDean, and the Wincest factor is so strong, and the actors play it up and everything, I'd have thought fandom would have loathed Castiel as an interloper coming between the twu wuv! But he's universally loved, and I just don't see that 'well, he's a serious hottie' explains it.

I can only assume that the chemistry between Dean and Castiel fairly sizzles.

Luke! I still love Luke. (Yes, well, what can I say?) The actor grew up in a town not that far away from my home town. *g*

Hawke is the character's name from Airwolf. Not someone I fancied, but I did enjoy the show on and off.

And, sheesh, it's not fair that some people get to mention Bodie (or Doyle) in their teenage crushes....*g*

I, being poor, have only my dreams.
bistokids at 2009-05-08 21:35 (UTC) (Link)
Hawke! Of course - it's all coming back to me now. I have no idea whatsoever what I was thinking with that one - I must have been on hefty meds for several years, is the best theory I can come up with. Maybe I was just so completely fascinated with the uber-wrinkly neck that I got sort of drawn in!

Luke's a sweetie. Fact. I keep picking up the DVDs in the shop, and then putting them down again, because I don't think my heart could take it if I saw him and was disappointed.

Well...okay, I wouldn't admit this to many, but...yes, I do own most of the DVDs. *g* Because, you know, it's Luke! If you were going to get one, I"d recommend the second season. ("The Ghost of General Lee" is one of my favorite episodes.) Go on.... *g*
I, being poor, have only my dreams.
bistokids at 2009-05-09 09:46 (UTC) (Link)
And sold! I'm going to risk it. Besides, I reckon the kids'll love it.

(I know what the outcome's going to be, though. I'm going to fall in love with Lucas Ducas all over again, get completely obsessed and be seeking out Hazzard-related fanfic before I know where I am! And it'll be all your fault! ;) )
msmoat at 2009-05-09 10:42 (UTC) (Link)
The kids will like it. Win-win. *g*

Um...okay, and um...I know of at least one decent-enough, er...slash story that I found myself liking even though, really, it wasn't what I wanted to read. Ahem.
I, being poor, have only my dreams.
bistokids at 2009-05-09 12:23 (UTC) (Link)
No. Slash? Good God, no. Because, brothers? Hot brothers? Cruising around the backwaters of America in a wicked gorgeous car? Getting into adventures and danger? With handcuffs occasionally? And lots of beautiful UST? Why on earth would I want to read that?

(Seriously, my addiction to SPN was pretty much inevitable, wan't it? :D)
msmoat at 2009-05-09 13:43 (UTC) (Link)
See, I'm resisting SPN. Because I know all it will take is immersion. And I'm not doing that until canon is closed. I can't take the heartbreak suspense. But...yeah...totally get it.
Strike while the irony is hot
draycevixen at 2009-05-08 20:56 (UTC) (Link)

Very nice list. I agree completely with Bodie and Murdock (the same reasons) and I can see most of these -- I always preferred dark haired/brooding men myself but you lose me rather with Vincent and the music ones.

Oh and now I have the theme to Monkey Magic stuck in my head... Egads!
I, being poor, have only my dreams.
bistokids at 2009-05-08 21:43 (UTC) (Link)
Hee! Ridiculous show, ridiculous theme song - and yet, strangely wonderful!

I lose me with Vincent. Mad. Quite mad. *shakes head at self*

I'm glad I'm not alone with Murdock, though - Bodie's more obvious in terms of his sheer deliciousness, but Murdock didn't half brood nicely when they let him! There's something just so attractive about dysfunctionality... :D
